Na Vstrechu

A Telegram bot that introduces the people in your chat once a week — one on one, over a cup of coffee.

The best collaborations start with a simple “Let’s meet for coffee!”

How it works

It runs by itself. Just three steps.

  1. Monday

The bot posts a poll in the group chat: who is up for a meeting this week?

  2. Tuesday

The bot pairs people up, posts the list in the chat and messages everyone their partner’s name.

    This week’s pairs:

    • Olya ☕ Dima
    • Marina ☕ Sergey
    • Katya ☕ Artyom

Enjoy your meetings! We’re looking forward to hearing how it went.

  3. All week

People arrange a time, meet for coffee — and share how it went in the group chat.

    Olya

Met Dima at the café by the park — we talked for an hour and a half about hiking and board games. Thanks for the introduction!

This is how it looks in the chat. Names are made up.

You relax. The bot does the work.

What participants say

Excerpts from the community’s group chat — no names or nicknames.

An hour and a half flew by in no time 🔥 Turns out we see a lot of things in life the same way.
My second meeting in this format — and again a kindred spirit. I was stunned: a big age gap, yet such similar paths in life.
At first I was surprised to get someone I didn’t know… But during the meeting so much came up that words can’t describe it!
I clicked the poll with no hope of an amazing conversation — it’s not that easy to click with someone quickly. But I got lucky.
It was our first time meeting, but it went easily and naturally — as if we’d known each other for ages.
This project definitely shouldn’t be closed. Lots of people need it — not everyone has realised it yet.

Who it’s for

For communities

Clubs, hobby chats, professional communities.

  • A reason to talk once a week — coming from the system, not the admin.
  • People get to know each other in person, not by nicknames — and stay where their friends are.
  • No need to figure out whom to message first: the bot has already chosen.
  • Every Tuesday brings a new acquaintance and a little intrigue: who will it be?
  • Zero routine for the admin: the bot handles the poll, the pairs and the reminders.

For companies

Teams where people work side by side but rarely cross paths.

  • Introduces colleagues from different departments — it gets easier to agree on things.
  • Experience and ideas are shared over coffee, not in a meeting room.
  • Newcomers settle in faster, especially when working remotely.
  • Real conversations help remote workers avoid burnout.
  • People are less likely to leave a team where they have friends.

What the bot does

  • Asks everyone whether they’re in this week
  • Pairs participants up at random
  • Finds a partner for anyone left over among those ready for two meetings
  • Makes sure pairs don’t repeat where possible
  • Posts the list of pairs in the group chat
  • Messages everyone their partner’s name privately
  • Keeps track of which meetings happened and which were cancelled
  • Collects feedback — privately, with no audience

And a real person beside it

Meeting strangers is a creative business — you can’t leave it to a bot alone. That’s why a moderator works with your chat:

  • introduces newcomers to the rules and answers questions
  • supports people through their first meetings
  • helps out if something goes wrong
  • keeps the chat friendly

Pricing

The price depends only on the size of your chat. The bot and a real moderator come with every plan.

How we built it

For those who came not for the bot, but to take a closer look at us.

  1. The task

Help members of a hobby club get to know each other — without drowning in manual organising.

  2. The solution

At first we drew pairs with a randomiser, then brought in a neural network. When the nuances piled up — rescheduling, “I don’t want to meet this partner again” — we wrote the bot: it remembers past meetings, finds a partner for whoever is left over and collects feedback. We kept a real moderator.

  3. The result

Over 600 meetings in a little more than a year and 100% positive feedback. We went to the meetings ourselves every week — it only gets more interesting as the first-meeting nerves fade.
